The Branch Area Food Pantry is 100% staffed by volunteers who donated over 5,000 hours in the first 6 months of 2022.
Volunteer Opportunities--Note: volunteer opportunities have changed due to the pandemic. At this time we are forced to limit the number of volunteers at the site. If you are interested in joining our team, contact Kim at the Pantry. 517-279-0966.
Mondays mornings only: Receiving, sorting, storing food coming in from community sources.
Tuesdays: Helping clients, restocking shelves, computer data entry.
Special events: Sorting food received from food drives, helping with fundraising events, holiday distribution, gleaning fields and more.
Help Needed! Spring is here and the Pantry is in need of a Pantry Garden managerASAP. Last summer’s garden provided 1200 lbs of fresh produce! The plot will be plowed and tilled and ready to plant soon. All tools, equipment are on site and watering/irrigation equipment is there as well. Come get your hands dirty while providing fresh food for the Pantry. Questions? Call John H-517-677-1776.
Volunteers work as much as they choose, from a few hours a month to many hours every week.
Volunteers complete an attached application or apply in person at the Pantry, Monday AM or Tuesdays, to match their interests and skills with Pantry needs.
